Welcome to Ingrid Amols Art

With a love of things simple, peaceful and authentic, Ingrid Amols creates original works of art using lively color layered over paper, canvas, ceramics – even yoga mats. Her wondrous interpretations of scenes of Nantucket, Paris and New York City will inspire adventure. Her presentations of nature will soothe. She paints whimsical pieces that are bright and happy. And quintessentially Ingrid. “I invite you to take a closer look. I promise a new way of seeing things.” - Ingrid Amols

ABOUT THE ARTIST : BIOGRAPHY

Ingrid Amols is a regional artist based in Charlotte, NC. Immersed in art early in life, she enrolled in the Munson Williams Procter Institute in Utica, NY, where she studied clay, weaving, drawing and painting. Ingrid earned a B.A. in Art History from the State University of New York at Purchase, NY, and received an M.A. in Illustration from Syracuse University, in Syracuse, NY. She also interned at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in New York, NY, and at the Bruce Museum, in Greenwich, CT. Following college, Ingrid continued her artistic journey, teaching art through The Gifted and Talented Program at Queens University, Charlotte Country Day School and the Braitman Studio. She also worked extensively with her homeless friends through Charlotte’s Urban Ministry Center. Today, Ingrid paints and teaches in Charlotte, where she lives with her husband, John, and their golden retriever, MacKenzie, and four “good/bad” cats.

ABOUT THE ARTIST : STATEMENT

For me, creating works of art is an enjoyable, challenging and thoughtful process that takes me on a personal journey. It is exciting to explore a variety of techniques, materials and subject matter. Creating a visual record of my travels evokes not only my own memories, but also, I hope, a unique viewing experience for you. I strive to create authentic pieces and to never disembark from my voyage of discovery. My wish is that my work inspires you to connect with your own memories and take your own journeys.
